My initial offer was to pay $155,000 (plus $35k for the lot) for a 2500 square foot house, of which 700 square feet was to be finished by me. The revised plans came in at 1800 square feet with me finish 500 square feet.
4 They also omitted all tile, hardwood flooring, low E windows and window coverings that were promised and written into the original contract. I was furious that they were trying to bait and switch me on what is the largest purchase anyone will ever make. Funnily enough, I had no dramas in letting them know.
